The Columbus Messenger Company was founded in 1974. Publisher Phil Daubel oversees an operation consisting of five newspapers with a total circulation of 40,000. The newspapers are printed bi-weekly and include locally focused hard news, feature stories, photos, columns and community calendars as well as local display and classified advertising.
The South/Canal Winchester Messenger covers Canal Winchester, Obetz, and Hamilton Township with a circulation of 9,000. The Madison Messenger covers Madison County with a circulation of 9,000. The Groveport Messenger covers Groveport and Madison Township with a circulation of 8,000. The Grove City Messenger covers Grove City, Urbancrest, Harrisburg, Jackson Township and Pleasant Township with a circulation of 9,000. The Westside Messenger covers Franklin Township, Prairie Township and parts of west Columbus with a circulation of 5,000.
